Bluewater makes a big event of ‘Entertainment Dining’Bluewater, the leading retail, leisure and events destination, today revealed the brand line-up in the Plaza, the new dining destination that links Bluewater’s Thames Walk to the forthcoming Glow, Bluewater events venue.

Opening November 10th 2011, the nine brands, five of which are new to Bluewater, will occupy a total of over 43,000 sq ft.

On the upper level of the Plaza:


Jamie’s Italian is opening a 7,102 sq ft restaurant, one of its largest in the UK

Wagamama is to occupy a 5,767 sq ft restaurant

TGI Friday is re-fitting its existing 9,533 sq ft restaurant

Ed’s Easy Diner are also undertaking a complete restaurant refurbishment, incorporating a new seating area on the upper mall and increasing the total size to 2,791 sq ft

Glow, Bluewater Plaza Upper Level

On the lower level of the Plaza:


Wahaca the ‘Mexican market eating’ brand named ‘Best Mexican’ in the 2010 Zagat London restaurant guide, is to open a 3,927 sq ft bar restaurant and bar

Balans which began in Soho and is famous for its cocktails and high quality service, is to open a 2,959 sq ft restaurant and bar

Browns the all day brasserie, is to open a 9,006 sq ft flagship that will herald the introduction of a new design concept.

Glow, Bluewater Plaza Lower Level

In addition, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Nando’s and La Tasca are undertaking complete re-fits of their existing restaurants, which are 3,970 sq ft, 3,927 sq ft and 4,254 sq ft respectively.

Commenting on the new dining brands, Guy Thomas, Head of Retail Leasing at Lend Lease, added: “This events venue at Bluewater is a significant addition that will create a very different offer for guests. It is vital, therefore, to create a restaurant offer that complements the experience.

“All of the new brands provide guests with something quite unique, through a combination of bar areas, innovative menus and the creation of lively atmospheres. Added to which, Jamie’s Italian, Browns, Wahaca and Balans have chosen Bluewater for their first restaurants in the region, highlighting our appeal as a first-choice locations for leading brands.”
