Turkey Mill launch the new Garden Room Thursday 20th May 2010
Turkey Mill, a venue already renowned for its spectacular weddings, corporate and private events, is set to raise standards even higher following the completion of the stunning new Garden Room.
Designed by Building Ideas Architects whose offices are at Turkey Mill, the new 200sqm building compliments the style and aesthetics of the existing Orangery and 9 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. The project has taken six months to complete and is the result of a half million pound investment.Externally, the Garden Room is faced with traditional Kentish Ragstone and brickwork, with purpose-made curved head timber doors. The most striking feature however, is the impressive central glazed roof lantern which provides an abundance of natural light within. The overall design of the Garden Room enhances the views of the magnificent grounds from both inside and out, all year through. A perfect venue for every season.
The Directors of Turkey Mill Investments and Events were pleased to mark the official opening with a business luncheon on 12 May 2010, with guest speaker, Paul Carter, Leader of Kent County Council. Sue Rackliffe, Events Manager, said “We are extremely excited about this new all-weather addition which will really enhance the current facilities. The design of the Garden Room will ensure that the room is always light and add to the effect of the gardens reaching into the covered space.”
The Garden Room is the new location for all civil ceremonies that take place at Turkey Mill, and is also ideal for private and corporate events. It is connected to the adjoining Orangery by a fixed and covered link. It is perfect for reception drinks, dancing, refreshments or as a break-out area; a fantastic addition to highly acclaimed Orangery and 9-acre gardens.
