Director Matthew Wolfman says “The Bell Hotel has been a focal point of hospitality for the Cinque port of Sandwich for hundreds of years. Sandwich itself is an absolute gem of a town, although Roman in origin it is reputed to be the most complete medieval town in England. It should be on every visitors list, and not just for the golfing due to the proximity of Open Championship course Royal St George’s. However Sandwich lacked for many years quality accommodation and restaurant facilities holding back the tourism business the town deserves.

Since we bought the hotel three years ago and began our £2 million refurbishment programme, Sandwich now has a hotel with beautifully finished and fitted out bedrooms, conference and wedding facilities of the highest quality and with the appointment of our new head chef Steve Piddock and refit and refurbishment of our restaurant ‘The Old Dining Room’ Sandwich now has a dining and bar facilities that competes with the best in the county of Kent. Although we are in the middle of an economic downturn we believe Britain, Kent, Sandwich and indeed we are well-placed to take advantage of the changes in the exchange rate that should re-invigorate the visitors market from abroad and we anticipate a rise in business from UK visitors with customers switching to UK short breaks.”
